Call for Bids to Host the APECS International Directorate

The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) has launched a call for bids to host the APECS International Directorate.

APECS is inviting institutions and organisations interested in supporting polar early-career researchers to submit proposals to host the Directorate and provide an institutional base for its international coordination activities. The host institution will play a key role in supporting APECS’ mission to foster interdisciplinary and international collaboration among early-career researchers in polar and alpine sciences.

The call outlines expectations for host institutions, including administrative support, infrastructure, and long-term commitment to APECS’ activities. Details on eligibility, responsibilities, and the application process are available in the official call documentation.

Bids should be sent as a PDF file to the APECS International Directorate (info@apecs.is) by 15 February 2026. A detailed list of required documents is included in the information package for interested parties.

APECS also welcomes proposals from institutions or consortia that wish to:

• Host a satellite office of the International Directorate, thereby expanding APECS activities through additional staff capacity, and/or
• Support and fund activities led by the International Directorate that directly serve the polar early-career research community.
