The Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2026 programme is now available, outlining key events taking place in Aarhus, Denmark from 25 March to 1 April 2026. ASSW is an annual meeting organised by the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) to support coordination, cooperation and collaboration among organisations involved in Arctic research.
ASSW 2026 will consist of three main components:
- Community Meetings and Workshops (25–29 March 2026): a series of meetings, workshops and side events organised by a range of Arctic research organisations and projects.
- Science Day: Arctic Observations (29 March 2026): a full day of scientific sessions, beginning with a plenary keynote and followed by parallel sessions under IASC Working Group themes.
- Arctic Observing Summit (AOS) 2026 (30 March – 1 April 2026): an international forum focused on strengthening and coordinating long-term Arctic observing systems.
The European Polar Board is organizing a session titled: "Dialogue and Cooperation in Polar Research: Regional Contributions to International Initiatives" on March 29 from 13:00-18:00 CET.
The European Polar Coordination office is also organizing an EU Polar Cluster session on March 29, 08:30-12:00 CET, titled "Polar Science Beyond Projects: Legacy, Policy, and Impact Context and Rationale".
The programme details sessions across these events, providing opportunities for scientific exchange, coordination and engagement across disciplines. Participants can expect thematic sessions that reflect the breadth of Arctic research, including environmental, social, and observing system topics.
The full ASSW 2026 programme can be accessed on the official ASSW website, and organisers will continue to update the online programme as planning progresses.
Further information on registration, practicalities, and associated meetings will be available through the ASSW 2026 website.
