Monaco Polar Symposium 2026: From Arctic to Antarctic
Date: February 25th, 2026 - February 27th, 2026
Location: Oceanographic Museum of Monaco
The Polar Symposium in Monaco is an international scientific meeting that brings together researchers, policymakers, NGOs, and Indigenous representatives to discuss the rapid changes occurring in the Arctic and Antarctic and their global consequences.
The 2026 Symposium aims to enhance international collaboration and develop a common vision for the Fifth International Polar Year (IPY-5). Through three thematic streams, participants focus on producing practical, action-focused results that help define priorities, support effective implementation, and contribute to a lasting impact on polar research, policy, and society beyond the IPY-5 initiative.
The 2026 Polar Symposium in Monaco is organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC), the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco.
