European Polar Board Members
The European Polar Board (EPB) is an independent organisation that promotes strategic coordination and cooperation in Arctic and Antarctic research across Europe
It brings together a wide range of national research institutes, funding agencies, scientific academies, and polar operators. These members are committed to advancing polar science, policy, and logistics, ensuring that Europe plays a leading role in addressing global challenges in the polar regions.
EPB membership is composed of organisations from across the European Research Area, each with expertise and capacity in polar research. Members collaborate to align national priorities, develop shared strategies, and improve the coordination of scientific activities and infrastructure use. This collective approach helps to strengthen Europe’s voice and influence in international polar science discussions.
Through regular meetings, working groups, and joint initiatives, EPB members contribute to the development of long-term visions for polar research and policy. The Board also acts as a hub for dialogue between science and policy, supporting evidence-based decision-making and fostering connections with wider global initiatives. By working together, EPB members help ensure that European polar research remains impactful, collaborative, and responsive to emerging environmental and societal needs.
