On 20 March 2025, the European Polar Board (EPB) took part in a UNESCO-hosted brainstorming session on the UN Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences 2025-2034, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. EPB members, Miguel Ojeda, Alun Hubbard and Marije Tempel (EPB Secretariat) represented EPB at the event. Miguel Ojeda served as a panelist in the session on policy, advocacy, and campaigns and offered insights on EPB´s mission and presented the newly established European Polar Coordination Office (EPCO).
The UN Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences 2025-2034 will be officially launched during the UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France (9-13 June 2025).
