Effective ocean policymaking depends on accessible, relevant science that resonates with decision-makers across sectors. Building on the priorities of the Barcelona Statement, the Ocean Decade's latest Call for Decade Actions (No. 09/2025) invites initiatives that fill regional and thematic gaps in ocean science to support informed, sustainable development ahead of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference.

As part of this Call, Programmes and Projects that enhance that strengthen scientific cooperation in the Southern Ocean and Antarctic are are especially encouraged to apply.
